Can the Paraben in your Personal Care Products Make you Fat?
In 1995 it was estimated that there were 200 million obese adults in the world. By 2000 that number had already grown to 300 million. Today globally there are more than one billion obese adults. What is causing this rapidly increasing global obesity epidemic?
The US has been investigating the effects of low levels of synthetic personal care product chemicals found in our water for the last ten years. Scientists around the world have now linked the chemicals found in these products to a growing global health crisis causing life-threatening and costly matabolic and neurological disorders. These disorders threaten to bankrupt the US medical system within the next 30 years.
What type of products contain these harmful chemicals you may ask?
The EPA recently reported that they found synthetic hormone-disrupting chemicals in shampoo, hair coloring agents, sunscreens, fragrances, all sorts of preservatives and (of course) pharmaceuticals.
Sadly, of the 80,000+ chemicals used in products, only a tiny fraction were ever fully tested for toxicity. Be aware that the phrase "no known toxicity" or "no known health effects" do not mean that a substance is harmless. It simply means that it hasn't been fully tested.
The EPA states that parabens ( methyl... propyl... butyl...) found in skin creams, cosmetics and sunscreen, have been proven to have endocrine-disrupting effects. It is very disturbing to learn that these chemicals can be found in personal care products that claim to be "natural" or "Organic".
This is the worst kind of hypocrisy.
None of those products will be found on this site.
Protect yourself by reading every ingredient on the label. Ask yourself if you would eat the product because when you apply a product to your body 60% of it may end up in your body.
